AI readiness assessment
Find out where AI will actually help your business.
In two weeks, CGX maps how work moves through your company, shortlists the AI tools that fit each workstream, checks the data, security and policy risks, and hands you a prioritized roadmap. From $2,500, credited to the AI Onboarding Sprint if you book it within 60 days.
How it works
Two weeks, from how you work today to a plan you can act on.
The assessment is the first two weeks of our four-week AI onboarding method, sold on its own for companies that want a plan before they commit to a rollout.
Discovery and workstream map
We talk with the people who do the work, in sales, operations, marketing and finance, and map how work actually moves: the tools, the hand-offs, the spreadsheets and the tasks nobody wrote down.
Tool shortlist, risk check and roadmap
For each workstream we shortlist the AI tools that fit, check what each needs from your data and what could go wrong, and turn it into a roadmap ranked by effort and payoff.
What you get
Four things you keep, whether or not you work with us again.
- A workstream map. How work moves through each team, where time goes, and which tasks are good candidates for AI and which aren't.
- A tool shortlist. The AI tools that fit each workstream, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, with a plain-language note on what each will and won't do and what it costs. It also shows which AI features you already pay for.
- A data, security and policy check. Where your sensitive data lives, which AI tools people are already using on their own, and what your AI policy needs to cover. Our free AI policy template is a good starting point.
- A prioritized roadmap. Quick wins first, then the bigger changes, with what each needs in time, budget and people. We walk your leadership team through it on a call.
What we look at
The questions the assessment answers.
Work
Which tasks take the most time each week? Which are repetitive, rules-based or mostly writing and research? Where do hand-offs between people or tools slow things down?
Tools
What do you already license? Many companies on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace already have AI features they haven't turned on. What would a new tool need to connect to?
Data and risk
What information should never go into an AI tool? Which tools are staff already using without approval? Do you have an AI policy, and does it match how people actually work?
People
Who on each team will champion the change? How comfortable is the team with AI today, and what training will they need?
Is it right for you?
Who the assessment is for.
A good fit if
- Your team uses AI tools, but there's no plan or policy behind it
- You're deciding between Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and want an outside view
- Leadership wants a business case before paying for licences or a rollout
- You've tried AI before and it didn't stick
Probably not a fit if
- You need a custom AI model or software built from scratch
- You already know which tool you want and only need it set up and your team trained. A Team AI Workshop or the full AI Onboarding Sprint fits better.

Questions
AI readiness assessments, answered.
What is an AI readiness assessment?
A short review of how your business works today, to find where AI tools would save time or improve output, which tools fit, what the data and security risks are, and what order to do things in. At CGX it takes two weeks and ends with a prioritized roadmap.
How much does an AI readiness assessment cost?
At CGX it starts at $2,500, depending on how many teams and people take part. The fee is credited to the AI Onboarding Sprint if you book it within 60 days.
How long does it take?
Two weeks: discovery and a workstream map in week 1, then the tool shortlist, risk check and roadmap in week 2.
What do you need from us?
Time with a few people from each team taking part, a list of the software you use today, and any existing IT, security or AI policies. We don't need access to your sensitive data to do the assessment.
Do we have to buy new AI tools?
No. Sometimes the best first step is turning on AI features you already pay for. When a new tool does make sense, you buy licences directly from the vendor, and we help you choose the right plan.
What happens after the assessment?
The roadmap is yours to use however you like. If you want CGX to set up the tools and train your team, the AI Onboarding Sprint picks up from the assessment, and the assessment fee is credited if you book within 60 days.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. We serve Toronto, New York and businesses across the US and Canada, remotely or on site.
